Missed Lessons Policy
At AW Music, lesson times are reserved exclusively for each student to support consistent progress and long-term musical growth. As a small business, missed or late-cancelled lessons are often difficult to fill at short notice. When lessons are missed repeatedly, it can limit opportunities for committed students who are ready to attend weekly and make consistent use of a lesson time. It also affects teachers who have set aside that time to teach. For these reasons, we have a no-show and late cancellation policy in place to help ensure fairness to our teachers and students, and to keep our timetable running smoothly.
If you are unable to attend a scheduled lesson, you must contact our timetable manager, Angus, before 11:00am on the day of your lesson. Text to 0406663667.
When notice is given before 11:00am on the day of your lesson, your lesson will not be automatically lost. Angus will make a reasonable attempt to reschedule the lesson to a different day or time, subject to availability. If rescheduling is not possible due to timetable constraints, the lesson will be rolled over to the following term.
Wherever possible, we strongly encourage providing notice well in advance (ideally the week prior, or at least the night before). This allows us to inform the teacher and adjust their timetable so they are not left waiting during their scheduled teaching hours.
If notice is given after 11:00am on the day of the lesson, or if the student is a no-show, the lesson will be forfeited. In these circumstances, we are unable to reimburse the lesson or roll it over to a future term.
Missed Lesson Limit
Each student is permitted a maximum of two missed lessons per lesson block, for any reason, including early-notice cancellations or no-shows.
Once more than two lessons are missed within a payment cycle, any additional missed lessons will be forfeited, regardless of notice given, and cannot be reimbursed or rolled over.
Cancelled lessons represent time that the teacher could otherwise have been teaching another student, which is why this limit is necessary.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation. This policy helps us support our teachers and provide a consistent, reliable service to all students.
